SAKAE SUSHI

Enough with continuous celebrations..Let's get back to FOOD..(err again?)

Together with hubby, I went to Sakae Sushi@The Curve for dinner. This was my first time eating at this sushi restaurant.
................................
As far as I know, there are three Sushi franchise in Malaysia -- Sushi King, Genki Sushi and Sakae Sushi. Sakae Sushi is the most recent one.
Been eyeing on Sakae Sushi for a looong time…and because of my dinner partner not a Japanese fanatic, I seldom got chance to eat Japanese food.

The ambiance was nice and cozy with dim lights (romantic!), clean, no kitchen smell.
I think they are more into ambiance and the whole feeling experience when eating at this restaurant. It must be the atmosphere, the people and the mood that changed everything which made them ‘look’ better than others.

Neezam didn’t know what to order so he just let me do the job.
At Sakae Sushi, if the items or sushis that you want are not on the conveyor belt, you can use the terminal / computer to order them…so interactive huh?
First, select the category.
Next, select the item plus the quantity.
Then, proceed to confirm your orders and wait for the food to be served.
But no worries, there’s always a menu for you to refer to on every table for you to order from the waiter.

They offer wide variety of Japanese food over 200 varieties of fresh, high-quality food at affordable prices. You can find teppanyaki, yakimono, nabemono, tempura, agemono, udon/soba, donburi, sashimi here. But one thing for sure, it somehow has more variety than Sushi King and Genki Sushi.
It looks the food here is really expensive, but it’s not. Prices are plus minus almost the same with Genki Sushi or Sushi King.

.

They have only 3 prices for each colour plates- RM1.90 (green), RM3.90 (pink) and RM5.90(red) Not like Genki Sushi or Sushi King, there are so many colour plates.

We were kind of surprised to find out their raw salmon sushi priced at RM 1.90 per plate! The fact that it is cheaper compared to the other 2 franchise.

........................
I tried to stick to nothing but green coloured plate, so I could eat more.. but that was impossible for me lah!

........................

When I was in Hamamatsu, I loved to lepak at KAPPA SUSHI restaurant with friends especially during winter. These chains charged 100 yen per plate for all kind of sushis. This considered soo cheap for students like us! ….and some of us could eat up to 20 plates!

.....

The bill came up to less than RM100..yess!.. for the amount we paid for the dinner, it was a satisfying meal… Most importantly, this time hubby got his cravings for unagi !

owh u back on this biznes ekk...

Hubby's birthday…

Unfortunately, this was the 2nd year hubby’s birthday fell during fasting month. .
At 12.01 am, after wishing him happy birthday, I did a ‘little surprise’ (which hubby already expected….=P). A birthday card with a piece of cake from Secret Recipe.... what did I get him? Didn’t buy him anything yet..knowing him, he told me that I do not need to buy him anything…

Men love useful gifts. It might not seem like an idea for a romantic birthday celebration for my husband, but he always wants me to buy him things that he can use. At last he decided to have a pair of shoes for work!...hmm good idea! ..

Men will really appreciate receiving gifts that he can use every day, and each time they use them they’ll be reminded of you and the effort you put in to find out what he needs!.....HOPEFULLY..

We purposely took a day off just to spend time together. Next morning, we went to look for hubby shoes at The Curve, Damansara. At the same time I found this cute sandals and hubby bought them for me…thank you! Thank you!..Errr wait a minute? Who is getting a birthday present now? me? or hubby?..he he...tumpang sekaki...

Finished with birthday gift, we went to One Utama for ‘hari raya shopping’.We both were excited about it. And since it was a weekday the place was not crowded with shoppers during that time. Thank god we have finished shopping our baju melayu and baju kurung at Jalan TAR a day before! Those streets are always crowded with sidewalk traders, tourists and the locals...boleh pengsan woo!
Hubby bought a piece of shirt and a T-shirt only…. but me?...I ended up with 6 pieces of dress & blouse(crazy me!) Ha ha….

It’s almost 7.00 pm when we realized we had yet to book or reserve any table for buka puasa. Surely every table was full with people by now. We continued our shopping until 8.30 pm and gave way to everybody with their dinner. (When it comes to eat, we would prefer to enjoy our food peacefully – no rushing!)

As I planned, we had our dinner at Sri Ayuthayya located at Damansara to end hubby’s birthday celebration.

Quote:
To ABANG, I wish you all the happiness, laughter and luck for the years ahead. May our LOVE grow even deeper every day...

wah neen!berturut2 ko nyer celebration...
lama tak jumpa/berkomunikasi ngan ko..rase2 pas kuar pc la kot yer?
btw, nak wish selama hari raya n maaf zahir batin..
kot dosa dulu2 tak termaaf lagi..hehe

Another Year Older

I almost forgot my birthday since we just celebrated our anniversary last week.
12:00 am…hubby was the 1st person to wish me.. (while I was sleeping)..err I think I remembered he whispered Happy Birthday song to me … hehe ..soo cute.

Later that day I received SMSs from family and friends wishing happy birthday…Ohhh..I didn’t expect they would remember my birthday..not at this age. Thank you! Thank you!
No party, but we had family dinner outside. My in laws- Abah, Mama, Along and Man all joined us for the dinner at the Roadhouse Grill, Ampang..

Before that, hubby bought a cake and I was ‘forced’ to do the candle blowing…hehe soo
malu in front of in laws.. I used to do this during my single years when I was with my family and later with hubby alone.

Roadhouse Grill used to be hubby family's favourite restaurant to dine, but i think it had been long forgotten by us.
A bit of cowboy style setting and you would feel as you're eating inside a farmer's house in Texas.. As soon as you're seated, a bucket of peanuts will be served, and when you eat the nuts, you're most welcomed to throw the remains on the floor let the waiters do the cleaning later. Buns and peanuts were served in aluminium buckets..he he sooo cowboy!!

The concept and ambience of this restaurant remind me of SPA ISSEI in Hamamatsu- a place where I loved to go to have delicious pasta and spaghetti when I was studying in Japan.

We waited almost one and a half hour for our meal to arrive…hmm..no one likes things late!
(One thing in life that i hate is TO WAIT )
I have tasted a few dishes here and like the seafood fettuccine the most!..forgot the name..the one with cream sauce!
But this time I decided to have the ribeye. Hubby had the T-bone steak..The food tasted OK that nite…
Lately, me & hubby think their food does not taste as delicious as before..(i mean 1-2 years before). I heard they had changed the ownership..maybe that’s one of the main reason.
After we finished our dinner at 11.30 pm, me & hubby rushed back home because tomorrow hubby will be away to Terengganu and Kuantan until next Monday…Sob sob…kena tinggal lagi!

Thank you so much to everybody, especially to my dearest hubby for the time and gift.

21.07.08…1 full year since our wedding day

I can't believe it. It's been a year since Neezam and I got married. I could'nt stop smiling looking at our wedding photos on the wall while finding the perfect words to write on the card. The 21st July last year seemed like it was just a few months ago.. really!!

I must say that it has been one superb year. It is really wonderful to have him there, knowing that there is this support lying inches away from me.

We had no idea where to go or what to do for our 1st wedding anniversary as we’ve been busy with work everyday. Hubby was not in town until last Sunday. (which gave me more than enough time to decorate the card!)

We decided to take a day leave and go to a peaceful place yet near to spend our memorable day.

Being the thoughtful man, hubby came up with a really nice idea! On Monday evening, he took me to Genting and we checked in at the AWANA genting for a night- PEACEFUL & NEAR

Later that night, we went up to the top of Genting and did some unplanned shopping at First World Plaza …hehe
Hubby bought a pair of Nike and for me a pair of Vinnci…Soo happy because we were able to take our own sweet time together jalan-jalan that night.

Next morning, we had our breakfast and went to the Genting Skyway Station. I was thinking to snap some pictures from the fastest and longest cable car in Southeast Asia .We got 2 complimentary Skyway cable car tickets from the hotel but unfortunately the station was closed on that day for maintenance work. Arghhh… Unable to catch breathtaking views of the surrounding hills.

Overall, we had a really wonderful, simple yet memorable 1st wedding anniversary. Can't wait for the years to come!

*To my beloved hubby… thanks for the lovely flowers and gift…

Happy Anniversary!!!

May both of you always love and cherish each other for years to come as if it is your first living together as husband and wife.

The Para disso

It was Friday nite!

Having dinner by pool at The Para disso @ The Lodge Paradize--a peaceful surrounded restaurant in the middle of KL...and a pleasant semi-open air concept restaurant.

The setting is just lovely with beautiful water features, wooden tables and chairs,
As usual, we sat by poolside to enjoy the nice night-view. It's nice just to sit in and relax..of course, I luv to hear the sound of the waterfall.

This place serves from local delights, asian food, malay to western food. The food were not so bad and I would give 3.5 out of 5 stars.
We spent the nite chit-chatting, updating each other on things that happened around us and in the office..(including all the latest gossip!..oh no )..

Should try their teh tarik. Very the kaww one!

Dine @ Chili's

Had a late lunch and an early dinner (2 in 1) at Chili’s Bangsar.
A place that offers genuine American Southwestern food, tastes of Tex-Mex.

An hour before, we were at Jalan Bangsar Utama looking for this training centre for my 2 days course. Me and my other 2 staff had to attend this training and none of them familiar with the area.
Whenever I have to drive by myself, hubby will have to show me where is the place a day before...(sorry hubby..!)

The food in Chili’s is always known as delicious.
We took our sweet time ordering drinks and this time only hubby ordered our all-time favorite, Flame Grilled Rib Eye. I decided to try something else – Lamb shoulder.

The food portions, as usual, were huge.

This American-style grill and bar is bright and cozy. The food served in a relaxed ambience…what else? I may say Chili’s is a fun, energetic and casual family restaurant.

The restaurants usually jam-packed with people during peak hours.
They provide good service and food quality..

In Chili’s the soft drinks and fruit juice are bottomless, meaning you can refill your drink with no limit. Great for those long gatherings don’t you think? ...
Just a little recommendation, lamb or rib here should be cooked at Well-Done or you will be eating blood!

SHOPPING @The Curve

View all 14 photos...
It was Saturday..
I went out to The Curve with my hubby. Didn’t know exactly where to go, it was my suggestion to explore the shops at this area that nite because most of the time, our visits to this place are for movies and food. We walked around and around until we stumbled upon a shoe store and there was this new design of shoes which I wanted since last month…after had a hard time to choose the right color (between blue, white and brown), I decided to have the least popular color – blue!

Next we went to a music store called ‘Rock Corner’…Neezam bought 2 CDs by Green Day and 3rd Eye Blind….(hmm…remind us of our secondary schooldays!).

Then, our next stop was BORDERS.
Neezam wanted to find some books…But after belek-belek them, he decided not to buy any since he just started reading the book that he bought last week.

The theory is that if you buy a lot of books at the same time, you won’t appreciate them and thus won’t be able to finish all of them. You will also feel overwhelmed having to read so many books at once.

It was past 9.30pm when we finished our “shopping”.
Time for dinner. Given the humongous crowd thronging the area, it was not surprising that most restaurants were filled with diners.
While searching for the right place to dine, we were passing THE STREET and I saw something cute… hmm hmm… and…. I bought it…it was cj7 doll...hehe sooo adorable!

Finally we found ourselves at the T.G.I Fridays (although hubby wanted to have Tony Roma’s… =P).
We ended our nite with Texas Ribeye for hubby, Chili Garlic Shrimp Pasta for me plus Southwestern Salad.

That was another weekend at The Curve for us!

TR Cineleisure

Dinner treat for hubby!
It was Along (my brother in law) who 1st introduced us this casual dining chain restaurant specializing in beef ribs.. and now it has become one of hubby’s favorite place to have Western.

We’ve choose the ribs as our main course tonight plus Roma’s Caesar Dinner Salad
Diners can opt to have either half or full rack.

This time, instead of having half rack each (3 pieces), we decided to share the full rack of Bountiful Beef Ribs - 6 pieces and automatically the ratio will be hubby: me=4:2.
We had two sides of mash potatoes and coleslaw from nine on offer.

Oh yes, the ribs comes with a choice of sauces from carolina honey, blue ridge smokies, red hots and original.

So far, their service is really good (currently)..but we both agreed that Cineleisure oulet is better compared with the one at Pavillion.

While waiting for the food, Neezam rushed to the 2nd floor and booked 2 tickets of ‘CONGKAK’. We didn’t go for movie these days as Neezam been busy with his work for the past few weeks. (We didn’t plan to watch any actually…=P)

I bet no one will play the congkak after watching it!

Jalan-Jalan Cari Makan @ ITALIANESE

View all 6 photos...
I have been wanting to try Italianese for long already, so I took the chance when we were in Sunway Pyramid last week. We don’t know much about Italianese, I thought it should be similar to other Western food restaurant like TGIF or Chilis. We didn't plan to eat there actually, just happen to pass by and feel like eating…

Neezam ordered a Pepperoni Pizza while I had Salmon Fettuccine, after learning the hard way how "small" their portion is, I learned to share 1 pizza among 2 of us, it's a very nice pizza.
Fairly priced? Hmmm.. by looking at the extreme portion.. maybe lah!.. Drinks were nothing much to be mentioned - we ordered water melon juice & ice lemon tea.

The food was good but the portion was seriously huge, even 2 of us couldn’t finish it!

Errr..I don’t think there’s much to shout about in Italiannies.. I doubt I’ll be going back there anytime soon. I would prefer Chilis, Tony Roma or RoadHouse Grill for dining options.

Anyway, ambiance is very comfortable, with all the yellow lightings and leather seat, it’s quite a homely decorated restaurant. Not to mention, service is fast and good and the waiters were quite tentative while we were there.

**Teh tarik and roti canai are still the best….!

(I know it’s kinda late to post up about Sepang when everybody had already known the results.)

We reached the circuit at around 2.00pm after going through a massive jam. (which I hate most!! )

By the time we even reached the place, I was soaking in my sweat.

The best thing was we managed to get strategic seats this year…at CRYSTAL..near the starting line and opposite the KIMI’s pit stop

There were plenty of hardcore Ferrari fans (including Neezam)
It was his 5th time attending this yearly event….
Me?...2nd time… (never thought of coming again this year after last year’s experience!)

All in all, i would say it was a so-so experience for me in Sepang and I wouldn’t come back unless to accompany my beloved hubby he he…..
I rather have myself sitting in my comfy chair while watching the race on my screen with commentators updating non-stop.
